The ONLY way our wildest dreams come true is through support from our family & friends and the generosity of local business who donate goods and services when items are needed for receptions.
Although our local non-profits, foundations, and government agencies give to AMAZING things I'm sad to say that in our community, at this time, there is not a single non-profit, or foundation, or government agency that gives to dance for dance's sake (unless it is ballet.) It wasn't always this way but it is what it is and we do what we can all digging deep (including the company) to add to the kitty to pay the bills.
We operate on 100% volunteer efforts: No-one is paid for administrative or office work. We have no professional fund-raisers taking a percentage of donations. We are "working class" artists that work full time at other things in order to pay the bills, and perhaps have some health insurance. It is a labor of love, passion and devotion. Funds are used to rent rehearsal space at the Montecito School of Ballet, costume runs (mostly from local thrift shops), modest artist honorariums for the performers when we've the funds, renting venues to share our work with the community, office supplies, funds for the cheapest accommodations we can find when we take work out of town. In our community, beyond a shadow of a doubt we accomplish more than any other art organization on a fraction of their budget & do so with a great deal of integrity and a high degree of professionalism. We definitely give our patrons the biggest bang for their buck! In-Kind Donations! Paper, ink, costumes, props... got stuff you think we might be able to use? Please call the office (805) 569-0389 and ask to speak to Stephen or Misa. Volunteer! Looking to gain some work experience in Arts Administration or interact with a dynamic arts community? Work one on one with our Company Guruini Misa and you will learn it all! Pick and choose where your interest lies!
